King Crimson was one of music's most notable progressive rock bands. Formed as a vehicle for guitar mastermind Robert Fripp in the late 1960s, they have a long and complicated history of lineups, breakups and changes in style. Throughout their career, King Crimson produced a bevy of experimental albums that range from 1974's Red to '81's Discipline. With an aggressive prog-rock style that rocked harder with every lineup change, King Crimson may not be know for their straight forward economical sound but for their maniacal, complex approach to songwriting.
