This is a significant recording that has never circulated in any form. It literally captures the breakthrough moment, shortly after the release of their major label debut, “Wide Open Spaces.” This was the first album with Natalie Maines as lead vocalist and at the time of this gig, the album had just hit #1. Ditto for the single “I Can Love You Better.” This was essentially the group’s last club tour with their original backup musicians and in my opinion, considerably more exciting than anything that followed. Other than TV appearances, few high quality recordings exist from this era. (member submitted)
